Introduction

Tattooing has been practiced around the world for thousands of years.

Tattoos have been used for religious reasons, to signify one’s place in society or purely for artist and personal reasons. Up until today tattoos were static unchanging works of art. Now, with the development of color changing tattoo ink, tattoos can be interactive, changing at the will of the wearer. They can also be used for medical reasons keeping people healthier by alerting them to possible medical emergencies and by improving already existing therapies.

The focus of our work and this web page is the development of our color-changing tattoo ink.  The ink is based on our patented tattoo ink and system:

Selectively Alterable Intermittent Tattoo Ink and System, Patent# 7,699,917
